Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world, one child and one community at a time.

The Salem Kiwanis Club is currently engaged in a membership campaign. We're seeking men and women over the age of 18 years, of high moral character, who want to work with us to help make Salem and the World a better place to live. Our members come from diverse backgrounds including business leaders, representatives of service organizations, government employees or elected officials, etc. Some members are actively working while others are retired. We encourage networking among our members, but we never lose sight of our primary purpose; to serve the children of the world.

The Salem Kiwanis Club is dedicated to carrying out the mission of Kiwanis International and the Kiwanis Pacific Northwest District. We serve on a global level, but focus more of our efforts in our local community, wherever we see a need. Much of our efforts are focused on helping young children in our area, such as our student mentoring at Richmond Elementary School. Other activities at Richmond Elementary School include our sponsorship of the Kiwanis Bringing Up Grades (B.U.G.) Program, providing bicycles, soccer balls and basketballs as attendance incentive prizes, school beautification projects and our annual Christmas party where we have pizza with the first graders and hope for Santa to make an appearance!

The Salem Kiwanis Club doesn't stop there. We also participate in the American Cancer Society's Relay For Life, The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Light The Night, Marion-Polk Foodshare volunteer service, Red Cross blood drives and disaster relief efforts, Sponsors of the annual Salem-Keizer School District Spelling Bee, Christmas Bell Ringing for Salvation Army, donations of hearing aids and maintenance kits for hearing impaired children, donations to the Chemeketa Early Childhood Education Program, sponsors of holiday radio messages for runaway children... and much more!
