1. First Project: Courthouse
Clock - the clock was later moved to the City Hall in
1952, and sold in 1972 when the City Hall was razed. It is now
on display in Mt. Angel.
2. Railroad crossing sign at Chemawa
Indian School.
3. Roadside sign at 45th Parallel.
4. Sponsored building of first concrete
bridges in Salem.
5. Fund drive for Willamette University
endowment - club raised over $500,000.
6. Fund drive for YMCA raising
approximately $200,000 for new building.
7. Salem General Hospital Improvement
Fund Drive - raised nearly $100,000.
8. In 1937, we helped organize the first Community
Chest Drive now known as the United Way.
9. Assisted addition of high school
classes at Chemawa Indian School.
10. Promotion of Silver Falls area as
a State Park.
11. Hosted three District Conventions.
12. In 1961, we initiated all night high
school graduation parties and chaperoned them at the YMCA.
13. Contributed to a Health Cabin at Camp
Kilowan Camp Fire in 1963.
14. Sponsored annual Kiwanis
Kids Day Parade in Salem with over 1,000 kids and 9,000
entries in poster contest.
15. Sponsored Boy Scout Troop
and twenty-three campships.
16. Sponsored Key Club at Sierra Catholic High School.
17. Presented banners at the Oregon State
Fair for FFA livestock showmanship.
